  2. During the podcast you mentioned a couple of utilities that help with optimising battery life. Could you share a few more details?
    I caught one (powertop –calibrate) but could catch the details of the other.

    No idea why all those home Internet gateways (DSL/cable/whatever routers) don’t simply offer the option to act as a recursive DNS resolver for all devices on the inside, instead of just forwarding DNS requests to external servers. Those DNS servers hosted by your ISP or Google made sense in the times of home dial-up, but dont anymore. There’s no need to run all your DNS traffic through some worldwide snooping service/single point of failure (Google, Cloudflare) etc. for a worthless privacy promise.

    Actually most of these home gateways already have full DNS servers, since they can resolve local names.
