Hello,
I work for a AAA game company, I can assure you that the self entitlement and rage is not unique to Linux gamers. See it all the time to Windows and Mac gamers. Like Mac gamers due to the small number of players it is just more noticeable.
I know it’s been awhile since you recorded this one – I’m a bit behind.
I think the issue with games not having a Linux version is really about usage of Linux. There is little incentive for such a small audience, and as you rightly suggest, there is no real reward for developers, apart from keeping some noisy gamers happy.
To address this issue, we would need to address the issue of usage. There’s little point in chasing developers without a ground-swell of users to fall back on using the OS.
Thanks for your podcast, I enjoy it.
