Hi,
I have a question in regard to the change from Thunderbird to Evolution and maybe the indicator applet for Date & Time in the Panel. I might be not the only one affected.
As many I only use Webmail for my personal messaging and so I don’t have TB installed. With the upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 I got Evolution. Naturally I deinstalled it (with SW Boutique) – to save update bandwith (not mine I have 10Gbit) and load on server. However, a couple days after deinstall I still found 4 processes of Evolution running. A dpkg -l evolut* showed me the remainers and I deinstalled these as well.
Can it be, that by deinstalling Evolution completely, that the applet for Date & Time disappears as well?
And if so, why – or let’s say, was it not considered to let it be?
Or why is the date and time applet called Evolution?
Mate-Tweak (side effect): I think since then I also lost the choice of different Panels. I just have my own-configuration, Gnome2 and Open Suse to choose from.
I checked Google before, but I seem to belong to a minority – or maybe nowbody wrote till now about it.
Love your podcast keep up the good work
Cheers
